Overview

The Emerson EPRO MMS6220 is a dual-channel eccentricity monitor designed for continuous and precise monitoring of rotating machinery. It is part of the MMS 6000 machine monitoring system and uses eddy current sensors to measure the relative radial shaft vibration. This enables real-time data acquisition, trend analysis, and alarm generation, making it ideal for monitoring critical equipment like turbines, compressors, fans, and centrifuges.

Triggering and Measurement:

  • Key-Signal Requirement: A full shaft revolution is required for eccentricity measurement. A trigger mark on the shaft, sensor (e.g., PR 6423/.. with CON 011), and the MMS 6310 module are needed for processing the key-signal.

Monitor/Sensor Supervision:

  • Signal Supervision: Monitors sensor signals, wiring between the sensor and monitor, system supply voltage, and ensures proper configuration and parameter settings.
  • Error Indicators: Errors are displayed via LEDs on the module front, including green LEDs for "Channel Clear" and red LEDs for alarms.

Communication and Configuration:

  • RS232 Interface: Available for configuration and data exchange with the monitor via a mini DIN diode socket.
